Don’t leave home without business cards. Jotting down your number on the back of a cocktail napkin may work on a date, but it definitely doesn’t cut it in the job world. You don’t need to have a current job to have business cards, and you don’t need a graphic desginer. All you need is contact information for how someone can get in touch with you. You can easily make your own cards using your home computer and pre-cut cards purchased from an office supply store, or order them from inexpensive websites like Vistaprint.
Any stock market tip in the world is only as good as the person who issues it, so when you get a tip, try and take it into context. If your buddies in the local bar are sure Apple is about to rocket in price, do some research before stumping up any cash. Then, if you read the same thing in the Wall Street Journal, there may be something in it.
If you need copies more often, you can contact the three reporting agencies and request copies directly from them. You will be charged for any reports over and beyond your one free annual report design.
Do you have the drive and determination to make a home business work? If you are like many people and want to be your own boss and work from home, then find something you like to do. It may sound easy, but it isn’t. While passion for something is a good thing, the passion to work with it and the willingness to see it done are even better.
